5 Summer Party Ideas for Apartment Renters

With summer in full swing, it’s time to get out and enjoy the season with your loved ones and Redwood Neighbors! Whether you have a weekly event set up with your friends or you’re throwing a party to get to know some new faces, there is no better time to plan something fun. Take a look at these four simple ideas for your next summer bash.

1 – Game Night

If you’re looking to gather a group of friends, a game night is a great way to go. You can go with the classics, like Monopoly or Life, or try something new—it’s up to you! Game nights can also move outside, which is ideal when you have a personal patio. That way, everyone can enjoy a beautiful summer evening while enjoying time together. Some game ideas to consider include:

  • Triva
  • Yard games
  • Oversized Jenga

2 – Pizza Party

We all know you can’t have a good party without good food, so why not center your get-together around that? With a pizza party, you can have your friends make suggestions about what pizzas to have in advance. Or you can have your guests make their own creations at the party itself. There is even the option for a side-dish potluck for food like:

  • Mozzarella sticks
  • Wings
  • Garlic Bread

3 – Ice Cream Social

You can’t go wrong with dessert, especially after a muggy summer day. You can even turn it into a fun social gathering with your neighbors by hosting a classic ice cream social! Lay out your favorite ice cream and toppings, and let your guests get creative. Fun for all ages, this sweet gathering will have everyone in a great mood. Just make sure you’ve got all the fixings available:

  • Heavy duty bowls (to handle all those toppings)
  • A few flavors of ice cream
  • Dairy free alternatives, if needed
  • Syrups, whipped cream, candy and crumbled cookie toppings

4 – Paint Night

When seasons change, it can be fun to freshen up your apartment décor. A fun way to do this? Make your own art! Try hosting a paint night with friends so you can get creative together. There’s no need to be an expert, and your creation can be a reminder of the fun you had together. Maybe you want to try painting a sunset to hang above your sink, or a landscape for in your guest bedroom. It’s up to you! The only items you’ll have to prepare are:

  • Acrylic paints
  • Small canvases
  • Brushes
  • Tablecloths
  • Drop cloths to protect your rental flooring

If you’re like most people, you’ve got a long list of movies or shows to catch up on—and so do your friends! Maybe it’s time to host a movie marathon. Not only will it get you up to date, it’s a great way to enjoy some time with your neighbors. Queue up your movie on your TV inside, or take your night up a notch and set up a portable projector on your patio! That way, you get the true theater feel. Make some popcorn, put out classic movie snacks, get some drinks, and make it feel like going out for a premier.
