Sold on Charlotte: Neighborhood Managers Share Inside Look at Fast-Growing Region

How much are new residents loving Charlotte, North Carolina? From mid-2021 to mid-2022, more than 100 people moved to the Charlotte metro area every single day. That’s the highest growth the region has experienced since 2010, and Redwood is meeting the demand. Redwood began building neighborhoods in the Charlotte region in 2018, beginning with Redwood Concord

“Since then, we’ve continued to expand, most recently with three new neighborhoods under construction – Redwood Charlotte Harris Houston Road, Redwood Kannapolis and Redwood Troutman, which all offer Redwood’s signature design that feels more like a single-family home,” said Aimee Rainwater, director of property operations at Redwood. “These neighborhoods are ideally suited for people who are new to Charlotte and getting to know the area, as they enjoy the benefits of renting and maintenance-free living.”

Describe the Charlotte area in a few words

Adventurous, melting pot, FUN!

What’s the best part about living here?

There’s something for everyone.

When you’re ready to shop local, where do you go?

I head to the NODA area, which is the “artsy” side of town where you can find local artists, street murals, handmade jewelry, cool places to hang out and much more!

What’s your go-to meal out?

I’m a moody foody so it depends on my mood – so many good choices! Optimist Hall is great because there’s something for all kinds of taste buds! My personal favorites at Optimist Hall are The Dumpling Lady (if you’re in the mood for authentic dumplings), AVA (if you’re in the mood for authentic Italian pizza) and el THRIFTY (great choice for authentic Mexican cuisine).

Where’s your favorite place to explore outdoors and why?

The many greenway trails throughout Charlotte. They are always peaceful, clean, and scenic.

What hidden gem have you found in your city?

The healing spring in Concord, which is an alkaline spring water well. Visitors can drive up to the well and fill as many jugs/bottles/containers as they’d like free of charge. The water is amazing and will make you feel refreshed!

What would you say to anyone considering moving here?

Don’t think twice about it, just do it! I decided to move here almost four years ago, and it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made!
