Pets at Redwood: Your Top 10 Most Asked Questions – Answered!
At Redwood, we understand that pets are family. That’s why we’ve designed our neighborhoods and policies to support a truly pet-inclusive lifestyle designed to feel like home for every member of your household, paws included.
To make things easier, we’ve gathered 10 of the most asked questions from prospective and current residents about living with pets at Redwood and provided clear answers to help you feel confident and informed.

How many pets can I have at my Redwood apartment home?
We allow up to three pets per home, giving you more flexibility than many traditional apartments. Your full furry crew is welcome!
Do I have to pay extra for multiple pets?
No, and that’s one of the unique parts of having pets at Redwood. All pet fees (both the $300 nonrefundable up-front pet fee and $40 monthly pet rent) are per home, not per pet. Many other apartment communities charge per pet, so this can be a significant savings.
Are there weight limits for dogs?
There are no weight limits for dogs at Redwood. Every pup (tiny lap dogs to Great Danes!) can feel right at home in our roomy, single-story floor plans. All sizes are welcome.

What makes Redwood more pet-friendly than other apartments?
Beyond the three-pet limit and per-home fees, Redwood offers single-story, open floor plans with private entrances that make life easier for pets of all ages. No stairs, shared hallways or elevators mean less stress – especially for senior pets or dogs who benefit from direct outdoor access. Attached garages provide extra space and comfort for loading up pets and storing gear, and many neighborhoods also feature pet wash stations for convenient clean-ups after muddy adventures.
Are there any breed restrictions?
The following dog breeds (and mixed breeds that include them) are restricted: Akita, Chow, Doberman Pinscher, Pitbull, Rottweiler, Shar-Pei and Staffordshire Terrier.
What kinds of pets are allowed?
Redwood welcomes domesticated animals, including cats and dogs. If you have questions about your specific pet, please reach out to your local neighborhood management team for guidance.

Are there places to walk my dog around the neighborhood?
Absolutely. Redwood Neighborhoods are intentionally designed with walkable streets, green spaces and quiet surroundings that make daily walks more enjoyable. We simply ask that pets are kept leashed while outdoors and that residents pick up after their pets to help keep our neighborhoods clean and comfortable for everyone.
Can my pets enjoy my private patio?
Yes, your personal patio is a great spot for sunbathing cats or dogs who like a cozy outdoor nook. We simply ask that pets are always leashed, supervised and not left unattended outside.

What should I keep in mind before moving in with pets?
Just review the portion of your lease talking about having pets and let your neighborhood team know about any pets you’re bringing. Once everything is on file, you and your pets can settle in and enjoy your new home without any extra steps or complications.
What should I do if I’m thinking of adding a new pet after I move in?
We love welcoming new furry residents! You’ll need to reach out to your on-site team first so they can update your household information, ensure your new companion meets neighborhood guidelines, and update your charges to include pet fees.
